A Message from the President…
Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with information regarding the professional cleaning and sanitizing of your sensitive electronic equipment.
To give you some background on our company, I have personally been involved with the computer and electronic equipment cleaning industry since 1996. We incorporated On-Site in 2000 and have grown each year ever since. [On-Site Professional Computer & Electronic Equipment Cleaning Services is a division of On-Site Professional Business Services Inc.]
What I realized back in 1996 was that many companies needed their equipment cleaned and computer technicians did not perform this task very willingly. I also called several Janitorial Services and discovered that these companies would not even consider touching the expensive equipment of their clients for fear of doing any damage to these costly assets.
The world was ripe for a new service to address the issue of dirty electronic equipment.
In my research I found that the standard procedure was to either send the dirty equipment to the dump, (not very environmentally responsible) or to simply paint over the dirt (a very expensive proposition, indeed).
We Have a System
In my efforts to find products that would do the job I wanted to do, I found there was nothing acceptable in the market. I had to research and develop products that will enable our staff to do a quick, efficient and acceptable job.
ElectroClean™ Electronic Component Cleaner is our main cleaning product. The market called for an industrial strength cleaner to handle both ‘regular’ and ‘industrial strength dirt’. This amazing cleaner can handle anything from liquid paper to the greasiest of grime.
ClearBlue™ Anti-Static Glass and Screen Cleaner was developed because the ElectroClean™ had too strong detergents in and it left streaks on the glass surfaces.
AntiBacterial Cleaner is the final touch. Once we have rid the equipment of all grease and grime and other dirt, we go over it one more time with the ‘Bug Killer’ and annihilate and bugs and germs from the human touch surfaces of the equipment. This product will also act as a touch up between regular cleanings, but you wouldn’t want to be ‘disinfecting the dirt’. The dirt must be removed first.
We also use a two brush system – wax on/wax off if you will. The first brush is used to apply the solution and the second one to remove the product and dirt. These brushes are specifically manufactured for computer cleaning and have long bristles with a ‘Y Fibre’ on the end so they can get right down between the keys and grills and air vents. The “capillary action” of these bristles sucks the dirt and wetness up back into the second brush. This is why the equipment can be turned right back on. Very little, if any wet gets down into the electronics.
Achievements
We were fortunate to be featured nationally on CBC’s television show Venture (It airs on Sunday nights) in February 2002. The article covered “Politics of the Office Cold” and discussed the necessity of having computer and telephone equipment cleaned and sanitized.
On-Site is an active member of both the Calgary and the Crossfield Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Better Business Bureau of Southern Alberta. It is important for all businesses in Calgary to give back to the business community as well as the community at large and that is an honour I take seriously, as head of the company.
We also support a number of other Community Not-for-profit organizations such as STARS, Salvation Army, Canadian Cancer Society, Children’s Cottage and Red Cross, not to mention local groups such ad Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, our local Schools and Volunteer Fire Department.
